The Background
Erez Israeli got his bachelor’s degree from Bar-Ilan University. He also got an MBA from the institution. During his college days, he actively participated in finance and marketing activities. And this eventually led to a full-time job.
Life in the Corporate World
Israeli began his career journey in Teva Pharmaceuticals. The Israeli multinational company focuses on biopharmaceutical and generic drugs. Israeli served for about two years and initiated a key transformation program. The five-year program was set to accomplish a $2 billion cost reduction. He aimed at portfolio optimization, organisation design, procurement, and distribution streamlining to improve Teva’s growth.
He was the Chief Business Process Officer and Employee Value Proposition (EVP) at Terva. He served the company’s North American market as VP of marketing and sales. He recorded impressive growth, boosting sales from $110-$400 million within four years. Israeli also designed a round-the-clock customer relationship management system in the region.
Israeli ventured into the company’s Asia market, serving as the VP. He built new infrastructures via brownfield acquisitions and self-investment. They are largely situated in India and China. Furthermore, Israeli led operations, autonomous decision-making, and more. This two-year-long role positioned him to become Teva’s president.
Israeli served as president for six years, taking charge of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) production. Again, he focused on cost reduction by improving operational activities and delivering services efficiently to clients. The company also experienced increased global revenue under his leadership. Israeli’s contribution brought in approximately $1.8 billion in sales. There are 21 manufacturing facilities in Israel, India, China, Italy, and several European countries.
Not many employees spend over two decades in a company, achieving incredible results. Israeli has had a long career at Teva with many remarkable achievements. This was a vital boost to transitioning into another company in the same industry.
