Life as a Founder

PhonePe is a UPI-based payment app which struggled to secure funds for expansion. It later succeeded in raising $700 million from investors. Flipkart acquired PhonePe in 2016, gaining a 100% stake in the company. However, Flipkart’s stake was reduced to 87% after PhonePe received investor funds.

Sameer said, “This move gives us access to capital to realise our dream of spreading financial inclusion to many Indians.”
